I think we need to do a much better job of wildfire protection for woodlands.
We could do that by using volunteer help like we did years ago and by using the logging industry when shut down during high fire danger season.
Hundreds of logging trucks with tanks of water and pumps would help a lot. Another idea is to have shipping containers made into tanks with bulkheads at the door end so the pumps and hoses would be inside and locked up and placed where they may be needed around.
If we get these fires (out) quickly, we could save a lot of trouble latter.
I’m thinking about next year when things get bad (again).
