Road maintenance is already used as an excuse to justify taxes.
“It's part of the social contract" they say, yet even more taxes seem to be necessary to actually maintain roads. If successive governments spent money where they claimed it was spent, we wouldn't be in this situation to begin with.
We do not need new taxes, what we need is government responsibility and legal accountability.
