How many times does (Kelowna) city council, and the city staff who recommend them, need to read or hear they are totally out of control in terms of approving the volume of buildings right now?
Almost daily we see postings advising city staff are recommending hundreds of units to be built.
What is wrong with their common sense? Our infrastructure cannot accommodate this density. Look at water, sewer and garbage demands on an old system. We all know the roads are crowded and some of us wonder why bike lanes have become a priority, especially in winter.
Is this all about money, getting more homeowners to pay property tax or getting developers to pay for new roadways? It sure seems so to me.
I will definitely not vote for anyone who feels this is the way forward.
Infrastructure first and then density.
