I have lived in Kelowna for more than 15 years. I have raised my family here. I am writing to talk about what is going on with our rental properties right now.
I feel the need to speak up. I have rented a small home with my family for 14 years. My landlord came to me and told me I have two months to move out because his son is moving in.
We have poured blood, sweat and tears into this home and I don’??t want my daughter to have to switch schools. There is also the fact that no matter where I go, I will be paying double the rent and I simply cannot afford to.
What blows my mind right now is this is happening to everyone I know (and hear about) who is renting.
What is being done to protect renters in this city from extreme greed? This is getting out of control.
The Service B.C. office is full of people who are being given the boot so prices can be raised to disgusting amounts.
Right now, with everything being so extreme, seriously, what will be done?
