Poor election planning

In the past week, I have read about two different candidate forums taking place (in Kelowna) on Sept. 28.

The first is an all-candidate forum from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., will be hosted by the Rutland Residents Association in the gym at the Hollywood Road Education Services Building.

The second is a debate to be hosted by (Okanagan College and UBCO) at the theatre in the student services building at Okanagan College from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for three of the (five) mayoral candidates—Colin Basran, Tom Dyas and David Habib.

Now, clearly these three mayoral candidates cannot be in two places at one time. And why would two events be held with overlapping times?

Surely, this could have been planned better to allow the voting public more opportunity to interact with the candidates before casting their ballot?
