On Nov. 16, 2022 Castanet wrote a story a scam letter that indicated the recipient won the Set For Life Lottery on its drawn numbers 12-16-17-22-34-36 and won $950,000.
Earlier this week, my friend received the same exciting information by mail, with her correct name and address. The problem is, the Set For Life Lottery is a scratch-and-win not a draw.
Some people are very naive about scams. Unfortunately some will contact the telephone number and likely reveal personal banking information.
Here’s a tip, the contest draw date is (indicated as) March 30 which has not happened yet, and the last date to claim this “exciting” prize is January 10, 2023. What?
Hopefully this letter to the editor will prevent some from engaging in this obvious scam.
If it sounds too good to be true…
