Supports Alberta's move

Re. Denouncing ‘anti-trans’ laws (Castanet, March 31)

This so-called "anti-trans" legislation by Alberta Premier Danielle Smith’s (government), is not being proposed to harm underage children.

It is to protect and prevent underage children from undergoing hormonal treatments which (it feels) can and will lead to major health issues in adulthood, and letting the child's parents decide what is best for them.

Teachers encouraging children to keep secrets from their parents is absolutely wrong. Teachers need to stick to academic subjects and leave the political pandering out.

David A. Linge, Kelowna

(Editor’s note: The story was actually about more than 400 Canadian artists signing a letter denouncing Alberta’s move and their belief it is "alarming and destructive" anti-trans legislation.)
