It's one heck of a commute for motorists heading into Kelowna from Peachland and points south this morning.
A single-vehicle rollover at the Highway 97C off-ramp caused a major traffic snarl about 7:30 a.m. with traffic backed up all the way into Peachland.
The resulting back-up caused a second accident, as Castanet's reporter on the scene witnessed the aftermath of at least one rear-ender.
The initial incident involved a compact Toyota Tercel, which rolled off the highway and down an embankment.
RCMP Cpl. Cory Lepine said the driver was coming off the Connector, heading north into Westbank, and swerved to avoid some debris on the road, over-corrected and went off the road.
Lepine said the car rolled at least three times, and the female driver was wearing a seatbelt.
The driver was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries, but was conscious at the scene. She was the lone occupant of the vehicle.
Traffic is reported moving once again on the highway.
We will have more details as they become available.
