Strip down to zip down

Zip-lining from unspeakable heights may be terrifying for some, but what about facing the diagnosis of breast cancer?

According to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, an estimated 24,400 women and 210 men in Canada are diagnosed with breast cancer each year – and 5,000 women and 60 men will die from the disease.

Compared to those grim statistics, zip-lining might not seem quite so terrifying anymore – and that is exactly what a group of women recognize every year.

On June 18,  ZipZone in Peachland will host the annual Naked Zip-lining event to raise funds for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, where brave women of all ages and body shapes will strip down to zip down.

Participants zip-line for free, but must raise $200 each for the foundation. All funds raised will be pooled and then distributed.

The ladies-only event is championed by Babes in Business, a group of female movers and shakers in the Okanagan.
