The Peach Festival Parade has a new marshall.
Penticton native Justin Pogge will lead the parade around downtown on August 12th. Pogge is best known for stopping 35 shots in the final game against Russia during the 2006 World Junior Hockey Championship. He has signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs and will be attending their training camp in September.
The Peach Festival runs from August 9-13 in Penticton and features such events as:
-a sandcastle building competition on Thursday, August 10th at Skaha Beach Park,
-a square dance festival from 9-12 at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre,
-the crowning of Miss Penticton 2006 on Friday, August 11th at the Cleland Theatre,
-the grand parade takes place on Saturday, August 12th at Main Street and Lakeshore starting at 9:40.
