The driver of a semi is thanking his lucky stars.
After briefly taking his eyes off the road to reach for something, the driver lost control of his rig just north of Summerland on Wednesday morning.
He left the road at high speed and careened through a small field before the rig stopped against a fence post. The semi was not loaded with anything at the time of the accident.
Although damage to the semi was extensive, the driver was unhurt.
