Robbery At Payless Shoes

Penticton RCMP are asking for the public's help in locating a robber.

RCMP responded to a robbery on Skaha Lake Road on Wednesday afternoon.

Around 1 pm a lone male entered the Payless Shoes store in the PeachTree Plaza. He is described as Caucasian, in his 30's, 5'9”, slim build, scruffy looking, unshaven with very tanned skin. He is said to have a brush cut, dark hair and was seen wearing a black t-shirt and either dark pants or shorts.

After loitering in the store, he approached the cash till and demanded money. He claimed to have a gun and a knife in his pocket, but neither weapon were produced.

After being given an amount of cash, the male left on a black or blue men's old style bicycle and was last seen heading towards Brandon Avenue. No employees or customers in the store were injured.

RCMP are investigating and ask that anyone with information contact the Penticton detachment or Crime Stoppers.
