Tulameen River Recedes

Overnight and throughout today the water levels have receded and the rain has eased up in the Tulameen River basin (upper Similkameen River watershed).

Although the area has received significant rainfall and the Tulameen River is at a high level, the threat of flooding is diminished.

In response, the Regional District Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) is deactivating the Level I Emergency Operations Center at this time. The RDOS and the Tulameen Eire Department are continuing to monitor the situation.

The RDOS wishes to acknowledge the volunteers with the Tulameen Fire Department for their hard work during this time.
