School Chair Steps Down

After eight years, Connie Denesiuk says she doesn't want to run things anymore.

The Chair of the Okanagan Skaha School District has announced she will not put her name forth for consideration for the job next year.

“The position is reviewed every year. I've decided not to submit my name in December,” says Denesiuk.

She says eight years is a long time.

“I'd like someone else to have the chance to run things. I am planning to remain as a school district trustee and I plan to stay active on the board, I just won't be running it,” says Denesiuk.

She says working as School District Chair was a privilege.

“I'm very pleased with the response and support I received over the last eight years. I'm looking forward to moving around the table a little bit.”

Denesiuk's last day as chair will be December 11.
