They can stay a little longer.
That is Penticton city council's decision regarding groups that use Nanaimo Hall, which is slated for demolition sometime next year.
Acting Recreation Manager, Dave Lieskovsky, says some of the groups are still looking for other buildings to hold meetings.
“Some groups haven't been able to work out lease agreements with other buildings and have asked permission to continue to use Nanaimo Hall until March,” says Lieskovsky.
He says all the groups were told back in February the hall wouldn't be available to them much longer.
City council voted unanimously Monday to let the groups stay in Nanaimo Hall until March 31.
