The RDOS contest winner has been announced for the 'Name the Mascot' contest.
A brother and sister team, Renia and Ethan Cooper choose the name Warren the Weed Warrior for the Invasive Plant Program mascot.
Program Coordinator, Lisa Scott, is pleased with the name and says the RDOS received 165 submissions from students in Kindergarten to Grade 7.
Renia and Ethan will receive a $100 gift certificate to Sirius Science and Nature on Main Street.
In 2007, the RDOS plans to educate youth on the harmful effects of invasive plants and encourage them to take action with Warren's help.
