Teen Thieves Arrested

Around noon Monday, Summerland RCMP stopped a stolen pick-up truck in the parking lot of the Tim Horton’s at the intersection of Highway 97 and Prairie Valley Road after the driver tried to elude them.

Police immediately arrested the driver but four other occupants ran away. Other RCMP units were called in a foot chase ensued. All occupants were eventually arrested and transported to the Summerland RCMP office.

RCMP say that four of the five arrested are young offenders, between the ages of 14 and 17. The other, male, is 18.

All are facing several charges of theft, possession of stolen property and other motor vehicle act charges.
