Don Halverson and Melissa Redfern are the proud parents of Penticton's New Year's baby.
Charlie Jessica Tricia Halverson was born at 3:51 pm Monday. She came into the world weighing seven pounds, one ounce, and was measured at just over 19 inches long.
"She's awesome, she's just precious," says Halverson.
Charlie has a nine-year-old sister named Genevieve to keep her company.
"Charlie is very happy and alert and calm, her sister is thrilled to finally meet her," says Redfern.
The new parents will be taking little Charlie home to Osoyoos on Tuesday afternoon.
