City Hall's Resolutions

Penticton's City Hall has made a few resolutions for this year.

Mayor Jake Kimberley says there are several things he'd like to see put on council's agenda in the coming months.

"Several items have been pushed to the back burner as staff worked on the South Okanagan Events Centre. Now that is winding up, we can start to focus on some other projects, such as secondary suites and smart growth," says Kimberley.

He says he'd like to get these issues dealt with as soon as possible.

"We are also looking at our long-term capital funding issues. The Events Centre is taking a considerable amount of city funds, so we are looking at accommodating some of the projects with other funding opportunities," says Kimberley.

He says the secondary suite issue isn't on the agenda just yet, but the documents are all in place.

"I think the community is deserving of a decision on how we are going to accommodate that situation," says Kimberley.
