A new scam could hit Summerland residents in the pocketbook if they aren't careful.
Sergeant Rick Bigland says several people have received a letter saying they've won a large amount of money in a lottery draw.
He says the letters are coming from the Euro Lotto and included a signed cheque to cover clearance and processing fees.
Bigland says the letters have no return address and include a Toronto area phone number.
He says people should not send the enclosed cheque to their bank, as doing so could give the scammers access to their banking information.
