Teen Idol Top 10

The top 10 have been selected and now it’s up to Penticton residents to pick the winner.

The fifth annual Penticton Teen Idol Competition is underway and the finalists have been selected.

Recreation coordinator, Carol Flynn, says over 50 youths took part in the first stage of the competition Saturday.

“The finalists for the 2007 Penticton Teen Idol Competition, in no particular order, are: Katie Thomson, Kristi Hack, Connor Campbell, Heather Smith, Teresa Johnston, Chelsea MacMurchy, Jenna Prowse, Cara Schiele, Graeme Petersen and Nikita Afonso,” says Flynn.

She says the final competition will be held Saturday, May 12 at 7 p.m., at the Cleland Theatre.

“Our panel of judges will narrow the field down to the top two and then the audience will pick the winner,” says Flynn.

The winner will receive a recording session, a professional promotional photo package, a guitar and enrollment in a three-day course through the Mountain School of the Arts.
