Update: Child Porn Charges

A South Okanagan man has plead guilty to four child pornography charges.

Two men were arrested in April after police raided a home in rural Oliver and found child porn materials.

The man, an Oliver resident in his 50’s, can’t be named in order to protect the identification of a seven-year-old girl, who was featured in some of the material. It’s believed the men were in a position of trust with the child.

RCMP seized printed material, computer disks and hard drives containing child porn images. The girl is now with her family in an unknown location.

The man’s defence lawyer, James Pennington, has requested a full psychiatric exam to be conducted in Port Coquitlam.

The case has been adjourned until May 14.

The co-accused, a 38-year-old Penticton man, has not yet entered a plea. His proceedings have also been adjourned until May 14.
