BC Conservation officer helps isolating seniors stuck with no food

Stuck seniors helped by CO

A BC Conservation officer went above and beyond to help out a pair of seniors who were desperate for food while self-isolating after returning from the United States.

The snowbirds were quarantining in their camper in the Grand Forks area, but found themselves running out of supplies.

They attached a note with a grocery list and money to a broomstick, waving it to hopefully attract a helper without having to get close to anyone, but were not having any luck.

Grand Forks conservation officer Kyle Bueckert heard about the pair, and leapt to help.

On his day off, he bought the grateful couple their groceries, who will be making their way home to Kitimat after their isolation.

A CO for two years, Bueckert was back at work soon after, patrolling by boat on Christina Lake.
