Osoyoos celebrates brand new brewery's grand opening

Welcome, new brewery!

The Watermark Beach Resort in Osoyoos is extending a public welcome to the town's first microbrewery, North Basin Brewing Co.

“We’re very excited for the arrival of North Basin,” said Paul Scanlon, hotel manager for Watermark Beach Resort in a press release.

“What a perfect addition to the richness of the South Okanagan’s culinary scene and for Watermark Beach Resort’s guests.”

The new spot for local brews has been operating its taproom since the late fall, but celebrated its official grand opening on Jan. 22 and 23 with a socially-distanced event featuring local food from Lake Village Bakery.

“The Okanagan is one of British Columbia’s best-known wine regions, so we wanted to showcase that there’s more to this area than just wine,” said Wesley Greve, a co-owner of North Basin Brewing Co. “We’ve called Osoyoos home for a long time and just wanted to create something that’s fun and laid back.”

Currently, the microbrewery and taproom serve ten beers that include everything from traditional IPA, pale ales, pilsners and Kölsch. The taproom is now open to enjoy a drink from 11 a.m. till 10 p.m. daily.

Patrons can find a full beer menu and order for curbside pickup at www.northbasinbrewing.com.
