Oliver Fire Department respond to vehicle fire, blaze destroys both

RV, car destroyed in blaze

The Oliver Fire Department responded to a report of structure fire on Monday morning, arriving to a motorhome and car engulfed in flames south of town near Road 5.

"We had a couple officers on scene, we had a fully involved RV on fire, plus a second vehicle that had caught fire and at that time didn't have fire personnel on scene yet. Once they arrived, we were able to deploy our lines and knock everything down," Oliver Fire Department spokesperson Rob Graham said.

Graham added that both vehicles were left heavily damaged and well destroyed after the fire, leaving little indication as to exactly how the fire started.

No injuries were sustained since both vehicles were unoccupied.

"It was at a location where we had a previous fire a few years ago, where a packing house burned down. The vehicles were parked on the concrete slab from that packing house."

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, stopping it from spreading to surrounding structures and the orchards.
