Penticton Ribfest cancelled, but Rotary pivots to 50/50 draw with great odds

Ribfest 50/50 on sale now

The Penticton Rotary Ribfest may be cancelled this year, but in its place, a 50/50 draw is still going forward.

Funds raised from Ribfest go toward all of the local Rotary's community and charitable initiatives, so another year without the festival is a tough blow for the organization.

They decided to run a 50/50 draw online to continue to give back.

Purchase a ticket to win half of the jackpot, with the other half going toward local initiatives like the South Okanagan Women in Need Society, the Starfish Backpack Program, the City of Penticton Splash Park and more.

"These efforts to support the local community depend on our ability to raise funds and this year our major fundraisers have sadly been cancelled or postponed due to the global pandemic," reads a statement from the Rotary.

"We look forward to you participating with us to raise money to help our local community!"

Click here to purchase your ticket, up until Oct. 12 at midnight. Tickets are $10 for one, or $20 for three. Only 5,100 tickets are available.
