Tonight's the night to help

Tonight's the night to help local high school students raise 10,000 food items for the needy this holiday season.

Students from both Penticton secondary schools will be collecting food, toys and donations as part of the annual 10,000 Tonight food drive.

To participate, put out non-perishable items on your porch or by the end of their driveway for pickup by 5 p.m. tonight.

Canned fruits/meats, crackers/chips/cereals and baby food/baby formula plus diapers are wish list items.

Drop-off donations can also be made at all local public schools, and collection bins will be available at Superstore, Safeway, IGA, Quality Greens and Save-On-Foods. from Nov. 22 to Dec. 3.

Or, you can arrange for a student to pick up items by calling 250-770-7750.

Financial donations can be made online here.

The drive will be followed by the popular "Toys for Tots to Teens" drive on Dec. 9, which aims to gather 1,000 or more toys and $20,000 to make sure every Penticton child has a present under the tree at Christmas.
