Penticton organization dedicated to helping kids with developmental differences gets major fundraising win

Smiles and support for kids

The OSNS Child and Youth Development is overwhelmed with gratitude for all who participated this weekend in raising money for treatment programs for children facing developmental challenges throughout the South Okanagan and Similkameen.

Their annual Share a Smile Telethon and Online Auction was a smashing success on Sunday.

They are still counting all the donations they raised at Sunday's live telethon, but as of Monday afternoon, they had topped $78,000 — an incredible number, but still a little shy of their $100,000 goal.

Luckily, if you wanted to contribute and missed out, there are still ways to support OSNS.

Back by popular demand this Christmas, Santa Claus will be available for virtual Zoom visits that can be personalized through online registration for any kid who has been missing seeing St. Nick in person at Cherry Lane Mall.

"After much consideration and with the desire to keep everyone safe, Santa and the OSNS Child & Youth Development Centre determined Zoom visits would be the safest option again this year," they explain.

Costs per visit are $20, with all proceeds going right back to OSNS. The centre is happy to help with cost for any families in need.

Appointments are available starting Dec. 6 and can be booked here.

And as always, visit the OSNS website to make a direct donation to OSNS programming.
