The first big festival weekend of the summer in Penticton has concluded.
Elvis Festival and the Peach City Beach Cruise both returned after a pandemic hiatus.
Elvis tribute artists were back in droves, attracting spectators on the outdoor stage on Okanagan Lake and the indoor venue at the South Okanagan Events Centre all weekend long.
The weekend culminated with final performances on Sunday evening, and the crowning of winners in both the pro and non-pro categories.
Pro winners were:
- Sylvain Leduc
- Anthony Joseph
- Mario Kombau
Non-pro winners were:
- Rob Schwertley
- DJ Dodge
- Brent Freeman
The Peach City Beach Cruise was also a huge draw on Lakeshore Drive this weekend, with roughly 800 classic and specialty cars on display.
There were winners in over 20 specific categories by age and type, but the big winners were:
- Registrant's Choice: Darren Hoffman of Nanaimo, 1955 Chevrolet Snubnose COE Cameo
- People's Choice: Bruce Charles of West Kelowna, 1955 Chevrolet Gasser
