Penticton woman pleads guilty to possession of drugs with intent of trafficking

Guilty plea to drug charge

A Penticton woman has pleaded guilty to possession of controlled substances with the intent of trafficking.

Naomi R. Toole, born in 1972, appeared in Penticton Supreme Court Tuesday to enter her plea to the single count.

Court heard that on Oct. 30, 2019, Toole was in Penticton and in possession of a number of drugs including fentanyl. Toole acknowledged her intent to deal those drugs through her plea.

Details about the incident which may have been shared at preliminary inquiries are protected by a routine publication ban until after her sentencing.

The court ordered a pre-sentence report with a psychological component, which will take roughly eight weeks to complete.

Toole will appear in court again in January to fix a date for sentencing.
