Significant rockslide leaves massive boulders in Okanagan Falls park, prompting geotechnical assessment

A significant rockslide left large boulders littering an Okanagan Falls neighbourhood park Tuesday morning, prompting a geotechnical assessment.

The Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen says Garnett Family Park, located in the Heritage Hills neighbourhood between Okanagan Falls and Penticton, is closed until further notice while engineers inspect the area.

Residents and visitors are asked to avoid the area.

The RDOS says more information on the safety of the bank above the park is "expected in the coming hours."
