Hey batter batter, it’s time to register for spring baseball.

After another very successful year of minor baseball for the Penticton Tigers, registration for the South Okanagan Minor League Baseball Association (SOMBA) Spring Baseball is now open.

The organization is asking players to register as soon as possible to take advantage of a monthly payment plan and ensure a spot on a team.

The deadline to register for the spring season is March 15.

This year SOMBA has also announced new umpires rates for the 2023 baseball season, with all divisions and levels receiving an increase.

"SOMBA’s goal with the new rates are to encourage recruitment of new umpires, the retention of current umpires and encourage experienced umpires to officiate and mentor younger division games. They are also hoping to bring a few former umpires out of retirement. "
