Crowds gather to watch the hot pepper eating contest in 2022.
One of the hottest festivals in the Interior has started its preparation for its fall festival, hoping to gather a headliner, opening act, DJ and other performers to fill out its live entertainment.
The Similkameen Sizzle Fest takes over Memorial Park in Keremeos as Canada’s only hot pepper festival, celebrating the more than 200 pepper varieties grown in the Similkameen.
The event will be back in Similkameen Valley on Sept. 23 for a spicy one-day event, full of fresh hot peppers as well as jams, jellies, salsas, spreads and more.
The highlight of the event is the raw pepper eating challenge.
Right now the festival is looking for:
- alcohol vendors, preferably local wineries, cideries and breweries
- food trucks
- musicians, bands, performers
- sponsors
- product vendors
