Penticton-area park closed by giant boulders falling has reopened

Park reopens after rock fall

A geotechnical assessment has been completed after a rock fall closed Garnett Family Park in the Heritage Hills neighbourhood between Penticton and Okanagan Falls.

The review found that no imminent rock fall concerns were identified by the geotechnical engineer.

But the site remains under observation out of caution. The Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen says clean-up efforts are being coordinated and will be completed in the coming week.

Garnett Family Park has now reopened except for the pathway in the rock fall area, which will remain closed until further notice.
