Traffic moving again on Highway 1 east of Salmon Arm

Highway 1 was closed at 20 Ave., east of Salmon Arm Wednesday night.

UPDATE 9:48 p.m.

DriveBC reports the scene is now cleared and Highway 1 is open in both directions just east of Salmon Arm at 20 Ave.

UPDATE 9:28 p.m.

Highway 1 is moving again east of Salmon Arm.

DriveBC says single-lane alternating traffic is getting through at the scene of a crash near the intersection of 20 Ave.

ORIGINAL 9:09 p.m.

The Trans-Canada Highway is closed due to a vehicle incident.

According to DriveBC, Highway 1 is shut at 20 Ave., just east of Salmon Arm.

A post to the Shuswap Road Report Facebook page says it appeared to be a collision between a semi and another vehicle.

Assessment is in progress but no detour is available.
