Big rig head-on avoided on Trans-Canada near Sicamous

Big rig head-on avoided

Contributed Skilled Truckers Canada

A semi driver narrowly avoided a head-on collision on Tuesday night on the Trans-Canada Highway near Sicamous.

Dashcam video shared to the Skilled Truckers Canada Facebook page shows a big rig coming straight towards another semi at night, in the wrong lane, on rain-slicked roads.

The first driver swerves into the other lane as the other semi goes by.

In the video posted Thursday night, the driver then goes on an expletive-filled rant after successfully avoiding a crash on the dark, two-lane section of highway.

The oncoming truck appears to go off the road as it goes by.

"This level of insanity on our highways and in our industry needs to stop," Skilled Truckers Canada said on the post.

"Hats off to this driver for avoiding something that he should never (have) had to avoid."

The post has drawn quite a bit of attention, with 133 comments and 109 shares.
