Heavy snowfall warning for Shuswap, parts of North Okanagan

Heavy snowfall warning

A heavy snowfall warning has been issued for the North Okanagan and Shuswap.

Environment Canada is calling for periods of heavy snow tonight and Tuesday.

Affected areas included the Shuswap and eastern parts of North Okanagan, including Enderby and Lumby.

Accumulations of up to 10 centimetres are anticipated.

"An Arctic front moving across eastern British Columbia will bring a period of heavy snow to the region," Environment Canada says.

The storm is expected to ease Tuesday afternoon.

"Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow."
