Trans Canada crash cleared between Sicamous and Revelstoke

Hwy 1 crash cleared

UPDATE: 6:20 a.m.

A crash scene on the Trans-Canada Highway between Sicamous and Revelstoke was cleared early this morning.

DriveBC advises the scene was cleared as of about 4:30 a.m.

Teresa Ripley tells Castanet her truck driver husband was hauling a semi load of pigs west towards Kamloops when "he came around the corner, and another semi was coming straight at him in his lane.

"His only choice was to try to fit between the oncoming semi and a passenger vehicle.

"His quick decision saved everyone's lives."

A photo shows the semi in the ditch up against a bank, with damage to its front end.

"Nobody was hurt bad," the crash, says Ripley.

The collision closed the route for several hours.
