The Regional District of North Okanagan has chosen its contractor for the renovations of the Pat Duke Memorial Arena, and construction is expected to begin next week.
"We are pleased to announce that we have awarded the project to Cormac Projects Inc. based out of Calgary," says Tannis Nelson, Manager of Community Services, RDNO. "We received lots of interest from qualified contractors in the construction community, and thank everyone for their interest in the project."
The renovations will be to improve existing change rooms and entrances, create four new change rooms, reinforcing the arch structure and to add a north warming and viewing area.
With the construction expected to start so soon, the workers will follow proper safety and sanitation precautions from WorkBC for safe COVID-19 practices. Construction is considered essential work by the province of BC.
