Enderby's Revolution RV collects thousands in gifts for those impacted by White Rock Lake fire

Viva la Revolution

Revolution RV in Enderby has collected thousands of dollars in gifts for people impacted by the White Rock Lake wildfire.

Owner Mike Jewell says he came up with the idea to raise some attention for his business via Facebook – but, more importantly, to help those whose lives were disrupted by one of the biggest fires in recent years.

Jewell reached out to his customers who operate other businesses to see if they could donate to the cause.

And donate they did.

Jewell collected close to $5,000 in items, ranging from gift cards to gas cards to a $1,000 battery pack.

“I got some outdoor stuff, too,” he said of the donations.

Jewell posted a list of everyone who donated on the Revolution RV Facebook page.

He also offered 50 per cent off propane to anyone evacuated by the fire.

The store drew the names of five people, with each receiving between $700 and 1,000 worth of items.
