Predator Ridge is pulling the wraps off plans for a major village centre expansion.
The culmination of a two-year "Amazing Moments Ahead" strategy, the announcement tells the story of the resort's 30-year history and what the future will look.
"As we approach the halfway point of our development, it is an exciting time in our community's lifecycle. We are at a point where demand has allowed us to take a step forward in advancing our planning and we can share the growth strategies being developed for our community," says Wesbild senior vice-president Brad Pelletier.
Timing on the village centre expansion will be dictated by market conditions with an expectation of completion within the next five to 10 years, he says.
The plan calls for increased dining options, enhanced retail services, medical and healthcare services, expanded grocery and community space, along with more staging and parking space.
Over the past decade the resort has seen a significant increase in full-time usage by homeowners with 76 per cent of current residents declaring Predator Ridge their primary residence.
"We are quickly approaching 1,000 units built out of a total unit entitlement of almost 2,000 units zoned in our master neighbourhood plan," says Pelletier.
"Every great resort development has a well-planned, identifiable and activated village environment that is engaging and user friendly.
"We've expanded where needed to meet increased user demands, but now is a time for more aggressive steps."
Growth will be concentrated in two higher-density, commercially zoned areas.
"This model allows us to preserve the low-density development approach in our other neighbourhoods," says Pelletier.
Those areas include the primary village from the Clubhouse and Lodge buildings to the front entrance, and a secondary future village located in the Meadows catchment between the No. 7 and 9 holes on the Ridge course.
Predator says key features will include "great architecture focused around beautiful civic spaces, walkable environments, and a mix of retail and dwelling units."
The aim is to bring people together to "foster more engagement and connectivity throughout the village."
