Fun in the sun and snow for Lumby Outhouse Races

Outhouses on the run

When nature calls, sometimes you've gotta run to the bathroom – but in Lumby on Sunday, racers were running with their outhouses.

The event marked the second year for outhouse races at Lumby's Salmon Trail parking lot.

With two pushing and one riding on the throne, teams competed for fun and bragging rights.

The Four Wheel Drive Association of BC poop deck won for best decorated, while the first overall team was the Heyde Haus 'Scheiss Haus'.

Lumby firefighters and RCMP were also among those competing under sunny skies.

"We were hoping to lock up a victory with our Jailhouse Outhouse ... but no such luck! Still, we had a lot of fun and we'll be back next year," North Okanagan RCMP posted on their Facebook page.

"We had so much fun, lots of laughter and got to meet amazing teams, organizers and people," said MLA Harwinder Sandhu. "It was wonderful to see so many people who came out to join this fun event on a beautiful sunny day in Lumby!"
