The list of current and former Kelowna Rockets at NHL training camps continues to grow

27 ex-Rockets test NHL

The Kelowna Rockets are well represented as all 31 NHL teams open training camps ahead of an expected start to the regular season next Wednesday.

Twenty-six current and former Rockets are presently attending training camps with a 27th, defenceman Kaeden Korczak, expected to join the Vegas Golden Knights following Tuesday's gold medal game at the World Junior championships in Edmonton.

The 27 players are vying for spots on 15 teams. Vancouver, Calgary, New Jersey and Tampa all feature three former Rockets.

  • Chicago Blackhawks: Duncan Keith, Michael Krutil
  • Dallas Stars: Jamie Benn, Blake Comeau
  • Edmonton Oilers: Tyson Barrie, Leon Draisaitl
  • Montreal Canadiens: Shea Weber
  • Nashville Predators: Colton Sissons
  • New Jersey Devils: Nolan Foote, Damon Severson, Nick Merkley
  • Ottawa Senators: Lassi Thomson
  • Philadelphia Flyers: Carsen Twarynski
  • Tampa Bay Lightning: Cal Foote, Luke Schenn, Devante Stephens
  • Toronto Maple Leafs: Rourke Chartier
  • Vancouver Canucks: Alex Edler, Kole Lind, Tyler Myers
  • Vegas Golden Knights: Gage Quinney, Kaedan Korczak
  • Washington Capitals: Lucas Johansen
  • Winnipeg Jets: Josh Morrissey

Missing from the list in forward Pavel Novak, a fifth round selection of the Minnesota Wild during the 2020 draft.

Defenceman Michael Krutil, who is attending Chicago's camp, has yet to suit up with the Rockets. He was selected by the team in last summer's import draft.
