Kamloops improves to 3-0 in B.C. Division hub with 6-1 win over Prince George

Blazers clobber Cougars 6-1

Matthew Seminoff scored twice and Caedan Bankier added a pair of assists Thursday as the Kamloops Blazers improved their WHL B.C. Division bubble record to a perfect 3-0 with a 6-1 win over the Prince George Cougars.

Tied 1-1 after 20 minutes, the Blazers scored four times in the second period to take a commanding 5-1 lead, adding a power play marker with less than 10 seconds to play in the third in an empty Sandman Centre.

Also scoring for Kamloops were Mats Lindgren, Caedan Bankier, Tye Spencer and Connor Zary. Jack Sander scored the lone goal for Prince George.

Dylan Garand made 25 saves en route to the win in net for the Blazers, improving to a perfect 3-0 on the season.

The game was a last-minute adjustment to the B.C. Division hub schedule. The Blazers were supposed to have taken on the Victoria Royals on Thursday in Kelowna, but that game was postponed following a number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among the Kelowna Rockets staff and players.

The Blazers will return to action on Saturday, taking on the Vancouver Giants at Sandman Centre at 7 p.m.
