Large police presence around Lipsett Avenue in Peachland

UPDATE: 9:15 a.m.

A police incident in the area of Lipsett Avenue in Peachland ended peacefully Tuesday afternoon.

According to RCMP, officers from the West Kelowna detachment responded to a home for reports of a distraught man.

RCMP officials say the incident ended a few hours later.

There are reports of a large police presence in Peachland.

A Castanet reader says police have converged in the area around Lipsett and Bulyea avenues.

There's no indication what prompted the police to converge on the area.

The witness says he did see an officer carrying a rifle at one point.
