The District of Peachland is armouring the waterfront along Beach Avenue at Swim Bay.
“Okanagan lake is into flood conditions again,” said the municipality on Facebook. “The public is asked to stay off the concrete barricades and off submerged docks. Boaters are asked to go slow close to shore. Help us protect our beach.”
Okanagan Lake is currently 342.743 metres above sea level, or 26 centimetres above “full pool.”
The Central Okanagan Emergency Operations has also recommended waterfront property owners consider protecting their shorelines in advance of the possibility of more rain and thunderstorms this weekend.
