Peachland spring clean up adds second location this year

Peachland cleanup is back

The Peachland Watershed Protection Alliance (PWPA) annual spring clean up is taking place later this month.

The event on April 30 is adding a second location this year, downtown, as well as in the Peachland watershed.

People looking to participate in the clean up efforts are to meet at either location for 9 a.m. in the morning, but latecomers are also welcome. The PWPA will be providing all materials including garbage bags and rubber gloves.

Two barbecues will take place at noon. The Peachland Lions will be hosting a barbeque for all volunteers at the watershed, while Peachland Rotary will host the other barbeque for volunteers downtown.

Last year, the spring clean up collected more than eight tonnes of trash and removed it from the watershed. The plan is to remove even more in 2022.
