BEALE, William Herbert (Billy)

BEALE, William Herbert (Billy)

Billy bounded into this world on June 27, 1965 and his journey ended on April 12, 2020. He is survived by the love of his life, Monica, his loving mother, Barbatha Beale, predeceased by his father Herbert Beale and he leaves behind his sister, Shauneen (Glenn) Hicks , his brother Leonard Beale, nieces Jennifer (Kendell), Kelly, Jessica, Stevie Lynn, nephews Daryl (Amy) and Joshua. Great nieces Celina and Arabella, great nephews, Nolan, Wyatt, Weston and Dillon and many relatives.

When Billy was two years old he was hit by a drunk driver and suffered with a brain injury and some mental disabilities his whole life. Often singled out and misunderstood but very bright he still enjoyed life; fixing his Galaxy 500 and 69 Mustang Fastback, riding his Keystone mini-bike, driving around our acre in Dad’s Fargo truck, swimming, sweets, guinea pigs, and telling stories. Billy rescued a little bird once and when its wing healed he took it outside for a test fly. The little bird flew off and Billy ran down the road calling after it. Billy loved with his whole heart, his family and his furry friends and we loved him but finding peace among the storm of brain injury is often very difficult for all.

On Easter Sunday Billy’s body grew tired, he stopped breathing and went home to our Lord. Billy never forgot anyone and loved talking about old times, he will never be forgotten. If you want to remember Billy, please do something nice for someone struggling with mental illness; they do not choose to be ill.

I am so sorry for the passing of Bill. I worked where Bill was and I spent many hours sitting and talking with him. He was a lovely person full of kindness and he genuinely cared about people and their struggles. He had a good sense of humour and many times would offer words of encouragement to someone who was down. I truly will never forget the time I spent with him either helping him with his chores or just hanging out. Heaven gained another angel. Lorna King, Penticton, BC.

I was so sorry and sad to hear this news. What a shock. So many fond childhood memories of Billy and all the antics we got up to. He was such a sweetie and incredibly smart working with mechanics. And boy did he love to tease his older sister. Shauneen, my condolences to you, your Mom and family. Sending love and hugs.
