DEVENNEY, William John Wellington and Sandra Colleen

They were off like a dirty shirt! It is with sad hearts we share the passing of our Mom and Dad. William John Wellington Devenney, the oldest of 2 sons born in Ireland to Elizabeth Bowden and Robert Devenney, died August 18th. Apparently Mom needed to join him quickly passing way just 13 days later. Sandra Colleen Devenney is the 6th of 8 children born to Evelyn Elizabeth Quist and Harold William Walton. Their six kids Chantelle, Julianne, Colleen (& David), Travis (& Ioulia), Spencer (& Nicholette), Scott (& Rebecca) trust that they are nearby moving heaven and earth to let us know they are watching over us.

Grandpa and Grandma to 11 grandkids - they will miss puzzles, camping, curling up for stories, making music and going for walks into town for treats and getting teased. Our parents sure loved the Lord and loved people, mom's heart often collecting additional kids that she cared about and for. Devoted to their faith and their convictions they were determined to make a difference in this world. They surely made a difference in ours!

So sorry to hear about Bill and Sandy. Condolences to all the family. I have known them for almost 40 years and worked with Sandy in a church capacity as well as being personal friends with her. She was a kind, loving, generous and very special lady. I remember going to their house for dinner. The men took off together, the children went to play together and Sandy gave me a foot massage while we chatted. It was very special and meant a lot to me. I will always remember both of them as special friends and I am sure they will be watching over all of you as they always did.

I was thinking of Sandy only this morning, remembering a Chorus get-together at her house, and now she’s gone. My sympathies to all the family.

What a sad, yet beautiful love story they shared.
