Award-winning research shares findings in a seminar

Leaders in the Okanagan building community host seminar “Net Zero Now”

The way we’re building homes is changing. But how can we continue to work towards a more sustainable future without breaking the bank?

Net Zero Now is a full-day seminar designed to help answer this question. It takes place on January 18th, 2024, in Kelowna.

The Green Construction Research and Training Center (GCRTC) along with industry partners of The Wilden Living Lab, have come together with the Canadian Home Builders Association Central Okanagan (CHBA-CO) to share latest research results for this special one-day course.

The GCRTC was established by UBC and Okanagan College to foster new research options in green construction and create hands-on practical training opportunities for students. The industry partners of the GCRTC with The Wilden Living Lab include AuthenTech Homes, FortisBC, Mitacs and the Wilden Group. Together, they share a commitment to shape the landscape of low-emission homes.

Focusing on sustainable building practices and the future of energy management, Net-Zero Now will feature speakers from AuthenTech Homes, FortisBC, the GCRTC and UBC research team, Genesis Building Controls, Total Home Solutions, the Wilden Group and other industry experts, concluding with a panel discussion and Q&A session.

Based on real-world circumstances, real-life data and on-going research, Net Zero Now is set to be an inspiring, educational and thought-provoking event for all in attendance.
